Wedding and special occasion beauty timeline: when to book each service

When should you book a facial, brow lamination, a lash lift and your nails before a wedding or special occasion? A simple timeline, counting back from the day.

Planning your beauty appointments in the right order before a wedding or special occasion helps you feel relaxed and ready on the day. The general rule is simple: never leave a new service until the last day; book your facial about a week before, your brow and lash services a few days before, and your nails in the final days. Below is a simple timeline, counting back from the day itself.

Why plan your beauty appointments in advance?

Every service needs a little time: to settle, for any mild redness to fade, or to reach the point where it looks its best. Appointments squeezed into the last few days are tiring, and they leave no margin to put things right if something unexpected happens.

Planning ahead makes it clear which service happens on which day, so you can spend the final week resting rather than rushing about. The timings below are general suggestions: because we plan every service to a personalised protocol, your own timeline may look different. We set it together at the first consultation, based on your skin, your brows and lashes, and your schedule.

A few months before: make the plan together

With a few months to go, the best thing to do is map out the plan together in a short consultation. We talk about which services you would like, what you have tried before and anything we should know about.

  • Services that need regular sessions: Body care such as body contouring and firming or cellulite care runs as a programme spread over several weeks. If you are considering either, we suggest talking to us early, so the programme can be planned around the date of your occasion.
  • Laser hair removal: Laser hair removal is also a programme of regular sessions, with set intervals between them. If you are thinking about it ahead of a special occasion, we suggest discussing the plan as early as possible. You can read more on our Laser Hair Removal page.
  • A facial routine: If you would like to start having regular professional facials, which are usually recommended every 4-6 weeks for most skin types, we can plan them from this point on.
  • A first brow lamination or lash lift: These services are usually repeated no sooner than 6-8 weeks apart, so if you would like a trial first, we suggest booking it at least two months before the occasion. That way you can see how it turns out, and we plan the one for the occasion itself accordingly.

A few weeks before: finish your preparations

If you have sensitive skin or a known allergy, please let us know before your appointment; we may recommend a patch test first. We explain what a patch test is for in our post on brow lamination and lash lift risks.

If you are thinking of nail extensions or nail art, send us a few pictures you like at this stage, so we have time to plan the design without rushing.

About a week before: your facial

Before an important day, we suggest booking your facial about a week ahead. You may have some mild, temporary redness, especially after blackhead removal; a week leaves room for it to fade and for your skin to look rested.

In that final week, we suggest not adding any new products to your routine, and avoiding heavy exfoliation at home and facial waxing. For what to keep in mind in the days after your session, see our post on what to do after a facial.

A few days before: brow lamination and lash lift

For brow lamination and a lash lift, we suggest booking a few days before the occasion. Afterwards, we recommend keeping water, steam and make-up away from your brows and lashes for the first 24-48 hours; we will tell you what suits you at the end of your session. A margin of a few days means this delicate period is over before the day itself.

The same timing suits brow shaping. If you do not leave it until the last day, any slight redness has time to fade. You will find the details of these services on our Brow Lamination page.

The final days: manicure, gel polish or nail extensions

For a manicure, gel polish or nail extensions, you can choose the days closest to the occasion. Gel polish usually lasts 2-3 weeks on the hands, so polish done a few days before will still look neat on the day; we go into more detail in our post on how long gel polish lasts. A first set of nail extensions takes around 1.5-2 hours, so it is a good idea to book it for a day when you are not busy.

To protect your nails until the last day, we recommend wearing gloves when washing up and cleaning.

The day before and the day itself

The last day is not the time to try a new service. Avoid putting any new product on your skin, and do not experiment with a mask or exfoliation at home.

The day before, the best thing you can do is drink enough water, sleep well and stick to the simple routine your skin is used to. On the day itself, all you need is a light moisturiser and, before your make-up, whatever skin prep suits you.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have a facial the day before my wedding?

We do not recommend it. There may be some mild, temporary redness afterwards, so we suggest booking your facial about a week ahead.

Should I have my first lash lift just before my wedding?

We would not recommend it. If it is your first time, we suggest having a trial at least two months before the occasion, because a lash lift is usually repeated no sooner than 6-8 weeks later.

How many days before my wedding should I have gel polish done?

A few days before is enough. Gel polish usually lasts 2-3 weeks, so you can choose a day close to the occasion. If you are having nail extensions for the first time, the appointment takes around 1.5-2 hours, so it is best booked for a day when you are not busy.

Can I book appointments for the people coming with me?

Yes. If you would like to book for them too, just message us and we will find suitable times together.
